The Porto de Sergipe I Thermoelectric Plant (UTE) is located in Barra dos Coqueiros and is responsible for converting liquefied natural gas into electricity. Using high technology, the construction of the plant was conducted by General Electric (GE) and includes 3 gas turbines 7HA.02 and 1 steam turbine in a combined cycle, that is, taking advantage of the exhaust gases from the gas turbines in the steam generation in recovery boilers and later use in the steam turbine, in addition to generating heat recovery.
The UTE also has marine facilities: the Floating Natural Gas Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), the anchoring system and the gas pipeline, responsible for transporting natural gas from the FSRU to the UTE.
